This years' masquerade/ carnival/ costumes/ Fasching/ pust

This year I was totally lazy and uninterested in making any costumes. Maybe because I had made a week earlier a lot of costumes for our school theatre group and I was already tired because I usually make a lot of things overnight and I completely give up sleep.

I must admit that I don't have the stamina like I used to have when I was (20 years) younger. And partly I was not interested in making costumes because I spent every free moment following war in Ukraina and I was just devastated that this was happening in 2022. I really thought that this was going to be a great year. Because I like even numbers (even number - 22, odd number - 21).

Anyway, I started making costumes just the night before the carnival and I was of course in trouble because I have 3 kids. I decided that my youngest daughter was going to get an old costume from my oldest daughter, so this actually took me 10 min to climb up the attic and look for old costumes. I didn't manage to complete the spiderman costume for my son (sob sob) so I had to buy a pirate costume at the shop in the morning before going to the kindergarten. Yes, criminal, I know. The only thing that I managed to make was a rainbow skirt for my 9-year-old daughter.

The lining is made of taft; from Burda 12/ 2006, size 36 (for my 9.5 year-old daughter), mod. 113:

I love sewing. I loved sewing this skirt (in the night form 28th Feb. to  1st March) but I was so sad when I was thinking about and listening to the news about Ukrania on the radio.
